With a passion for the water and a vision to expand the club’s watersports offerings, Harry is ready to take the helm and steer the centre to an exciting 2025 season.
Having worked in various locations both abroad and around London, he has gained a wealth of experience across different sailing centres. His background makes him a well-rounded instructor with expertise in everything from sailing to windsurfing and powerboating. Ask Harry about his favourite watersport, and he’ll tell you it’s impossible to pick just one. “Sailing is so versatile, but I also love windsurfing, teaching powerboating, and paddling,” he shares.
Harry joins The Lensbury following a highly successful 2024 season, and he’s determined to build on that momentum.
One of his primary goals is to motivate more members and guests to get involved in watersports. “I want more people to experience what we have on offer by creating opportunities for those who may have never been out on the water before. Seeing people grow and gain confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.”
Our Watersports Centre is now open for 2025 and we look forward welcoming lots of faces – old and new. Whether you are experienced on the water or a complete novice, we have something for everyone, from sailing courses to canoeing and kayaking with friends.
Highlights for this season include our ever popular school holiday courses and weekend clubs for sailing and kayaking which are perfect to give the smaller family members a chance to get onto the Thames! For any competitive sailors or kayakers, take the opportunity to trial for the London Youth Games in June this year, representing The Lensbury and Richmond Council at this prestigious event. Get into sailing by joining the social and fun sailing club where you can perfect your skills with like-minded sailors out on the water every Sunday morning and Thursday evening.
If you are looking for something a little less strenuous then why not while away the afternoon on one of our motor boats this year. Drive your very own boat down the river from our boat house to Hampton Court, enjoy the tranquillity and scenery – whilst perhaps enjoying your very own picnic on board!
For larger groups, celebrations and parties, Turks’ launches have large open-topped boats perfect for the summer months that can be arranged from The Lensbury to take you down the river in style!
